A B C’s are what I love to say,they form the word I use everyday living in a society. Society consist of me and you as an organized group of people associated for some specific purpose which involved transmission of rules, norms, culture, the totality of social relationships in moving or making life better living for all.
How do we carry out our social relationships to make a society? It is
being said that no communication no society and that tells us that
communication plays the major role in the making up of a society. Communication
is the process of you sending something to another person, who understood
clearly what you meant with no difficulties. In other words, communication is a
process of imparting, exchanging of information, ideas, thought or feelings in
an acceptable manner. It involves the process of receiving stimuli by the
sender, having a complete thought or ideas to send package in message, a
channel to send the message through and the receiver’s response after receiving
the message to serve as feedback.
We human being love to share, as there is
good in sharing our ideas, thoughts, feelings to somebody who cares and whom we
think cares to free our mind, educate, entertain or influence their lives in
one way or the other. Man cannot not communicate they have to do with the right
message being sent to the right people at the right time making the
communication process efficient as intended.
What make up our message? What makes a
message the right message? What makes a message attract a good feedback we
yearn for?
All this is simple! communication process
can be verbal or non-verbal means, what constitute verbal means are our
ALPHABET joined together to form words we add meaning to as it implies
‘’meaning resides in man and not in words’’ the meaning we attached to words
has to do with our past experience about that word which is mostly by
socialization, either through peer groups, the media, family, school, religious
houses and others.
Meaning could be in negative or positive
form for exam, the word ‘’FAILURE’’
It seems she is a FAILURE?
Sandra said looking tentatively at the females playing tennis game on her
phone.
God forbid! Lara sitting beside Sandra said almost immediately, crossing
her thumb and middle finger on her head with the hope of cleansing Failure in
her life.
I
will report what you to our class teacher; she said afterward walking to the
teacher’s table to report.
Come here Sandra; the teacher commanded ’’why did you say that to your
friend, fellow human like you’’ was it because you had a small little argument
I have settled with you; the teacher demanded as Sandra gazed down speechless.
Who could define what just happened between
them?
FAILURE
is just a 7letters word we are being thought in school and now it is putting
Sandra to the verge of the teacher’s anger. The word FAILURE to her is helpful
because it has allowed her to express her thought about the tennis team
insufficient performance during the play and in other way an enemy because the
experience of the people around her then about the word FAILURE is total
negativity just like in non-verbal communication where signs through the use of
hands, known as tactile, body language and all that are used for example, what
do you think of the reaction of a physically challenged in the ears would be if
he sees another person with a leaf in the mouth?
It is exactly what you think and that is
why you must know that what you do favourably welcome in your society might
attract hostility in another society.
